Datuk Ahmad Hizzad Baharuddin,

Director-General of Labuan FSA / Director of Labuan IBFC

Datuk Ahmad Hizzad Baharuddin was appointed the Director-General of Labuan FSA on 3 October 2011. He currently serves as Director of Labuan IBFC Inc Sdn Bhd, Labuanfsa Inc Sdn Bhd, Pristine Era Sdn Bhd, Financial Park (L) Sdn Bhd and Labuan Corporation; and is a member of the Audit Committee of Labuan Corporation. Datuk Ahmad Hizzad is also a Board Member of the International Islamic Financial Market in Bahrain.Prior to his appointment in Labuan FSA, Datuk Ahmad Hizzad was the Director of the Islamic Banking and Takaful Department at the Central Bank of Malaysia. Since beginning his career in the bank in 1986, Datuk Ahmad Hizzad has served in various departments across the bank. He holds a Master in Business Administration from St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

Tom Darbyshire (Conference Chairman)

Tom joined Kott Gunning in 1997 and became a partner in 2002. Between 2008 and 2012 he was Managing Partner, and he resumed that role between October 2014 and March 2016.Tom has extensive experience as a litigator and has appeared as Counsel in all State and Federal Courts, with the exception of the High Court.Tom specialises in matters arising out of the Corporations Act, particularly in relation to directors’ duties, corporate governance and insolvency. Cindy Goh graduated from International Islamic University of Malaysia with an Honours degree in law. Her legal education includes both Malaysian civil law and Islamic law. Before joining legal practice, Cindy was attached to the international audit firm, KPMG.Cindy is now the Head of the IP Department and a Litigation Partner in Cheang & Ariff. Her areas of specialization include IP, corporate litigation, commercial disputes, tax litigation, etc. Cindy was also involved in various overseas projects including arbitration proceedings and contract advisory services.
